...and the biggest purchase you’ll ever make – so when it comes to property issues, you need to know that any problems which may arise can be rectified quickly.

The Surveyors Ombudsman Service (the SOS) is a dispute resolution scheme which can give you that peace of mind, dealing with complaints about surveying firms swiftly and fairly.

years of experience

Run by the Ombudsman Service Limited (tOSl), which has years of experience administering such schemes for the energy and telephone sectors, the SOS provides redress should things go wrong.

Operated on behalf of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), but acting entirely independently of it, the scheme is there to help consumers and surveyors alike, aiming to avoid the need for expensive and time-consuming legal action for less complicated matters.
a satisfactory resolution

When complaints have gone unheeded or no agreement can be reached, the ombudsman will step in to examine the facts and bring a grievance to a satisfactory resolution.

Provided the firm in question is regulated by RICS, and using the SOS as their redress mechanism, the SOS is there to help.
